Eudora 5.1 and 5.2 for MacOS requires the following changes to be made in order for you to use SMTP authentication:

  1. Run Eudora, go under the Special menu, select Settings
  2. Click on the Sending Mail icon in the category list on the left.
  3. Change SMTP Server to: REMOTESMTP.WYITH.NET
  4. Ensure Allow Authentication or Allow Authorization is checked.
  5. Uncheck the SSL icon near the bottom of the left category list.
  6. Ensure that SSL for SMTP is set to Not Required (Alternate Port)

Note: Eudora does not support SMTP authentication with MacOS X version 10.0 or 10.1. Eudora 5.2 supports SMTP authentication on MacOS X 10.2. Eudora 5.1 and later support SMTP authentication on MacOS 9.x.
